Description

The Splunk Engiineer / Developer is responsible for providing oversight for the Splunk implementation in AWS. The Splunk Engiineer / Developer must also have experience working in an Agile environment. The Splunk Engineer / Developer is the Splunk SME for all things Splunk. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Splunk enterprise Subject Matter Expert.
  • Provide guidance and direction into the functional design, configuration, data management, reporting and best practices for leveraging and managing Splunk.
  • Support customers with log ingestion, log parsing, report design, dashboards, and query troubleshooting.  
  • Create advanced searches, dashboards, reports, and alerts, as well as Splunk applications, technology add-ons, and Common Information Model.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
  • Two (2) years of experience with Splunk.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Splunk Architect, Administrator or Developer.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five (5) years of IT experience and two (2) years of experience architecting, configuring, deploying, and customizing Splunk.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and the ability to make recommendations to improve performance and support continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of Splunk components including search head, indexer, deployment server and monitoring console.
  • Understanding of system and application log files.
  • Must work well with general guidance, generate competent technical input for operations type documentation, be detailed and security oriented.
  • Experience with Windows or Linux.

  • Knowledge of advanced search and reporting commands.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team setting.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
