Description

SAIC is looking to fill a junior RF engineer position to support US Air Force RF seeker research, modeling, analysis, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), and field testing. This position requires a candidate with college level academic coursework covering active radio frequency (RF) principles of operation and antenna modeling. RF signal processing, Real Beam (RB) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) knowledge is desired. A successful candidate will be assigned to work as a part of a small team of scientist and engineers working with civil service government engineers developing, modeling, and laboratory testing advanced active RF seeker concepts for the US Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) - Armament Directorate, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide hardware and software support for AFRL developed radar concepts – includes graphical interface design to set up and control said concepts
  • Assist the RF team in scenario construction mechanisms to place targets on terrain
  • Develop RF modeling scenarios that include appropriate sensor parameters for imaging targets and scenes of interest
  • Assist the RF Team to fabricate and install hardware and software for the HWIL RF simulator for operation and verification of calibration as required.

  • Radar system analysis and simulation
  • Hardware and software interface and development skills
  • Programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB
  • Electrical, Computer Engineering or Physics; B.S. required, M.S. desired
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DOD security clearance
