Job Description


SAIC has a potential opportunity for a ­­­­­­­­­­Software Engineer to support the U.S. Army Military Ground Vehicle Systems.  The work will be located in Warren, MI.

This position is contingent upon contract award with an anticipated start date November 2022.

Software Engineer, supporting the Ground Vehicle System Center (CCDC-GVSC).  As an experienced Software Engineer, you will work alongside our U.S. Army customer, applying your extensive skills and experience in providing technical engineering services to support the development of software requirements, architecture, design, and code.  

Job Responsibilities Include: 

  • Development of modular software, integration frameworks, design, development, test of operational software products.
  • Coordination and integration of other software activities and products from other supplying entities.
  • Software Development with C++ following standard software processes.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to interface with systems and software development engineers as well as our government customer.
  • Providing guidance in creating new system/software architectures and supporting the design and development of software necessary to meet the expectations.
  • Integrate and Test Software from internal and external software development teams.
  • Proficient with VxWorks OS experience and with Atlassian tools, Bitbucket (git), Jira, and Confluence.



  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, or Math from an accredited college or university. A Master's degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum total of 5 years' experience in the development of software for DoD computer systems using Ada, C, C++, or Java programming languages including:
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in the development of real-time software for DOD tactical platforms or DoD simulation/stimulation systems. 
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills are needed to handle multiple task/projects and to work independently.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are also required to work well with all levels of staff and managers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.


  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Can start work with Interim Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
