Job Description


SAIC has a potential opportunity for a ­­­­­­­­­­Software Process Engineer to support the U.S. Army Military Ground Vehicle Systems.  The work will be located in Warren, MI.

This position is contingent upon contract award with an anticipated start date November 2022.

This position will leverage SAFe Agile methods to develop solutions to develop integrations and compatibility between modeled content and vehicle software architectures. The position requires developing software and modeling automations, supporting vehicle software development workflows. Position responsibilities include being either a Software Developer for an Agile Scrum team responsible for engineering software applications.

  • Leads and generates technical solutions including specifying of requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development and testing for current, new and major projects
  • Develop, test and implement tool solutions that support the engineering organization
  • Identity, Design, Requires workflow modifications with multiple business teams and business application extensions
  • Lead development of software systems and software feature enhancements
  • Provide, communicate, and support consistent processes among software, requirement, and part release communities
  • Performs as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one platform / application / workflow
  • Lead development of software systems and software feature enhancements
  • Performs complex design analysis
  • Debug and resolve tool and process issues
  • Specifies and balances system requirements within engineering and IT environments.
  • Develop and update process documents and training materials



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering from an accredited college or university. A Master's degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum total of 5 years' experience in the development, or life-cycle maintenance of DoD computer system software including: A minimum of 3 years' experience in the development and application of organizational software process improvement initiatives for DoD Software Systems based on the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) framework; Membership on an appraisal team responsible for conducting and achieving at least one CMMI level 3 or above appraisal; and Applying Lean Six-Sigma principles and tools to software process engineering efforts.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills are needed to handle multiple task/projects and to work independently.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are also required to work well with all levels of staff and managers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Can start work with Interim Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
