Job Description


SAIC is looking for a Patch Management Analyst assist the Security teams with maintaining a security vulnerability assessment on workstations.  Mitigate vulnerabilities, define, and implement security policies, and support internal management processes.  Manages application and software updates, including packaging standard applications, create Security Update baselines, and creating custom packages and scripts.  Works with system engineers and security engineering team to resolve issues using Problem Management or Root Cause Analysis.  In this role you will act as a liaison between the deskside support team and vulnerability management team to remediate vulnerabilities and resolve issues related to patch installation failures.  Failed patches may require manual installation by remoting into the user’s workstations. Exercises independent judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and criteria for remediating vulnerabilities on workstations.  Works under limited direction. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments.



Deploy monthly Microsoft updates and apply application security updates.

Work with the existing deskside team members at different sites to troubleshoot and remediate vulnerabilities on workstations that fail to install.

Work with the windows engineering team and Vulnerability management team on system hardening based on CIS benchmark

Work closely with the change management team to submit and get approvals for change tickets.

Attend weekly change management meetings and engineering review board meetings.

Create a consistent user experience for the deployment of third-party applications and provide routine updates.

Develop software installation scripts and provide code review for complex software installations

Ensure all baseline applications are automatically deployed across the enterprise

Work with the service desk and deskside team to identify their software package requests needs

Engage with Engineering team and other teams across the enterprise to ensure that software packages meet the requirement of the organization and are distributed in a consistent manner.

Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining workstation health for entire IBM Bigfix infrastructure.

Troubleshoot and resolve IBM Bigfix package and baseline deployment failures.

Perform Continuous improvement to automate tasks and create documentation.

Viewed as a well-developed technical resource capable of handling moderately complex assignments. 


Bachelor's degree in related field and 3+ years' experience or 7 years of related experience.

US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Federal Public Trust clearance.

Experience with end point management tools similar to IBM's Big Fix, Or Microsoft SCCM, Intune

Extensive experience with patch management and vulnerability remediations.

Experience with deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft OS (Windows 10), Active Directory, and Microsoft Office 365, Azure.

Experience of security policies and basic vulnerabilities management.

Excellent written and communication skills required, excellent customer service experience.


Desired Experience:

Knowledge workstation hardening based on CIS Benchmark standards

Experience with using Nessus or Tenable is preferred

Experience with scripting and packaging software.

Experience with (GPO) Group Policy Object

Experience creating, testing, deploying, and managing computer images (Microsoft MDT)

Experience using a ticketing system such as Service Now.

Experience with Mobile Device (IPhone)

Target salary range: $75,001 - $85,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
