Description

The Logistician will be responsible for coordinating the supply chain from procurement thru integration and testing to end user. They will manage the entire life cycle of our products (which includes how we acquire product, distribute product, allocate final product, and deliver final product to consumers). This role is located in San Diego, CA.

Job Duties Include:

  • Collaborating as necessary to meet internal project and customer requirements.
  • Explaining proposed solutions to customers, or other interested parties through written proposals, e-mails, and/or oral presentations.
  • Reviewing logistics performance with against targets, benchmarks and ongoing service agreements.
  • Supporting the development of training materials and technical manuals, if required.
  • Developing and implementing technical project management tools such as plans, schedules, and responsibility and compliance matrices.
  • Developing proposals that include documentation for estimates.
  • Supporting the compilation and analysis of technical source data necessary for product development.
  • Managing availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products.
  • Managing the logistical aspects of product life cycles, including coordination or provisioning of samples, and the minimization of obsolescence.
  • Participating in the assessment and review of design alternatives and design change proposal impacts.
  • Performing system life-cycle cost analysis, and develop component studies.
  • Planning, organizing, and executing logistics support activities such as maintenance planning, repair analysis, and test equipment recommendations.
  • Redesigning (if applicable) the movement of goods in order to maximize value and minimize costs.
  • Reporting project plans, progress, and results.
  • Staying informed of logistics technology advances; apply appropriate technology in order to improve logistics processes (configuration management).

Qualifications

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of logistics experience
  • Bachelors degree desired - additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree 
  • Possess a SECRET clearance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • General working knowledge of engineering technician practices
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Supply Chain Logistics
  • Experience with Navy Logistics
  • Prior experience in a Naval Special Warfare/Operation Command as a Logistics Specialist working with unmanned vehicles

  • Experience analyzing spare parts (predictive and failure analysis)
