Description

SAIC is seeking a Flight Operations Division Spacecraft Systems Engineer with extensive experience and understanding of core spacecraft vehicle, payload, and ground systems engineering and analysis.  This work is performed in the Aurora, CO area.   TS/SCI with poly is required. Salary expectation is 135-145k

  

  • Represent the Flight Operations Division in the execution of spacecraft integration, test, launch, and on-orbit operations. 
  • Conduct anomaly support, launch and mission readiness, and end to end space systems architecture. 
  • Maintain close communications with the program acquisition office and customer engineering organizations providing recommendations on risk level of spacecraft activities.
  • Oversee day to day execution of operations and processes to ensure proper attention to health, safety, and effective use of national resources.

 

Required Skills:

  • Provide launch and mission readiness subject matter expertise to operations and engineering including readiness for launch, spacecraft initialization, and transition to mission. 
  • Draft and coordinate Statement of Work, Evaluation Criteria, and Requests for Proposal.
  • Contracting Officer’s Technical Representatives and Contracting Officer experience providing technical and programmatic direction on multiple contracts.
  • Statements of Work development for contract modifications and new contracts
  • Plan and evaluate budget recommendations for contract execution to include researching, drafting and supporting Unfunded Requirements.
  • Evaluate Concepts of Operations and Operating Instructions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) field – contract requirement.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4 Years’ Experience in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and/or closing DoD or Intelligence Community projects or Programs.
  • Strong spacecraft vehicle, payload, and ground systems engineering background.
  • SIGINT systems engineering background and significant space and ground domain. knowledge in customer mission technical capabilities and performance.
  • Technical familiarity with SIGINT system’s payloads and subsystems. 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Target salary range: $135,001 - $145,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
