SAIC has an immediate need for a Network Operations Analyst in the NOC to support the NASA Integrated Communications Services (NICS) contract at NASA's Marshall Space Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The NICS contract provides high quality integrated communications services for secure voice, video and data solutions and services to NASA customers worldwide. The selected candidate will be supporting NASA’s network needs in the Corporate Network Operations Center located on-site in Huntsville.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor status of all WAN network infrastructure
  • Respond to alarms in Spectrum and take appropriate action against for them
  • Follow engineering documents to test and implement complex communication network solutions
  • Must be able to think quickly and make the appropriate choice for the situation with little to no supervisio
  • Provide IT Security planning, assessment and documentation.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school (or equivalent) and 8 years of experience supporting WAN/LAN, telecommunication and Internet Technology. Or college degree can mitigate the experience requirement
  • CCNA, JUNOS, NEXUS training or higher certifications highly desired

 

Required Skills:

  • Work off shift this position is for off shift once acclimated to the environment
  • Higher level understanding of WAN and Networking environments
  • Experience assessing and documenting communication systems in accordance with NIST standards and best practices

 

Desired Skills / Experiences:

  • Higher level CISCO or JUNOS certificate programs are all considered
  • Highly desirable- experience with Spectrum and help desk applications

 

Clearance:

Candidate must either currently possess or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance, but all higher clearance levels are desired
