SAIC has an immediate opening for a Logistics Specialist to support life cycle maintenance and integrated product support for US Navy C4I systems.  This role is located in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will have specific, recent and extensive experience providing logistics support in a DoD environment.  Candidates must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of US Navy and Department of Defense Logistics Systems including packaging, shipping, receiving, supply processes, stock control, warehousing, inventory management, procurement, and physical distribution of inventory.  In addition, candidates must have a thorough knowledge and documented use of software systems/databases such as CAV, SABAR, CMPro, and ERP.    

Job Duties: 

  • Duties of the position include inventory management; prioritizing multiple tasks to meet time critical requirements; and coordinating with various functional areas to ensure timely receipt, testing, approval, packaging and documentation of inventory to meet fleet requirements. 
  • Duties may also include interpreting and evaluating demand history, analyzing end of life impacts on existing inventory, forecasting future demand based on fielding plans, researching and estimating cost trends for existing and future inventory, and providing recommendations to customers for inventory management updates.
  • Position will involve testing parts for functionality, as well as charging UPS batteries.
  • This position involves direct contact with customers and fleet users, and demands performance that is both detail oriented and time critical.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School and two (2) years or more related experience.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • A clear understanding of DoD and US Navy inventory management is critical to success in this position, including familiarity with INCO, OBRP and PBL spares, as well as the management tools and periodic reports associated with those spares inventories.
  • The ability to exercise independent judgment while working on multiple projects of diverse scope will be key to successful performance of the task requirements associated with this position.  

Desired Experience: 

  • Technical experience with testing equipment and peripherals is highly desired.
  • Hands-on experience with PMW-160 systems a plus.
