Job Description

Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Market Analyst with experience in digital technologies to join our Competitive Intelligence team in Corporate Strategy.  The successful candidate’s primary customer will be SAIC’s Digital Innovation Factory Team (IFT) and SAIC’s customer-facing Business Units.

The candidate must bring a strong technical knowledge in application of digital technology solutions (e.g., digital engineering, cloud and platforms, software development, cybersecurity, immersive technologies, edge computing, AI/ML, et. al.), particularly those in wide use across the US Government.  This individual will have responsibility for generating competitive insights focused on Defense, Federal Civilian, and Intelligence customer trends, competitor activity, and other market intelligence that will inform SAIC’s competitive positioning.  This individual will lead a wide range of research and analysis, leveraging open-source research and federal data, as well as SAIC’s proprietary databases, to produce insights that are broadly applicable to SAIC’s continued growth in digital products, solutions, and services that drive digital transformation across the federal government.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maximize insights from a wide variety of industry-leading research tools and publications regarding new and innovative uses of digital technologies that, over both near- (1-3 years) and long-term (4-8+ years) time horizons, can be applied to the challenges of our customer base
  • Synthesize research and data into presentations for senior executives in customer-facing Sectors and Business Units; serve as a leader and facilitator promoting a data-first and strategy-first culture of planning and analysis for near-term and long-term corporate and business planning
  • Develop a strong working partnership with functional leaders across SAIC’s Innovation Factory teams, holding both a practitioner-level (i.e., how does the technology work) and strategic-level (i.e., how do multiple technologies in that ecosystem fit together) understanding; fields include digital technologies, digital engineering, immersive technologies, edge computing, cloud, cybersecurity, data platforms, and AI/ML, among others
  • Develop an understanding of key trends, spending patterns, contract vehicles, and major opportunities across Defense, Federal Civil, and Intelligence customer markets, as well as specific market sub-segments (e.g., engineering, IT) within each customer market area
  • Work with internal and external technology sources to identify short term and long-term technology trends that lead to development of differentiated SAIC solutions and offerings
  • Lead and support other ad-hoc market research and strategic planning initiatives as they arise and as directed by corporate leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant business or technical field of study
  • More than 5 years of experience leading strategy initiatives, including research recommendation development, that cross digital technology disciplines (ex. digital engineering, digital technologies, immersive technologies, edge computing, cloud, cybersecurity, data platforms, AI/ML), particularly those that are broadly applicable to the US Government
  • Knowledge of one or more federal market verticals, including Defense, Federal Civilian, and/or Intelligence
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information, identify trends in data, and link to implications for SAIC’s markets and business outlook
  • A passion for research, modeling, and detailed data analysis – understanding the “so what!” as well as a genuine interest in digital technologies and digital transformation
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and provide recommendations to senior audiences

Personal Characteristics

  • A values-based commitment to teamwork and collaboration
  • Strong demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in research and analysis
  • A personal style which encompasses a consultative approach to developing culture, colleague and industry networks, and customer relationship management
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills verbally and in writing, with ability to actively listen, engage, and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with peers, other functions, and across internal business organizations; strong industry network
  • Sound business judgment and strong operational acumen
  • Possess ability and skills necessary to motivate at all levels of the organization. He/she will have a personal style that generates high levels of confidence and inspires teamwork and customer focus. In addition, he/she must have a style that fosters a "can-do" attitude and a sense of trust and integrity. Must demonstrate a natural tendency to treat people with respect and adherence to a high standard of strong personal integrity. Must be direct and transparent.
  • High sense of urgency, positive outlook, and ability to thrive in multi-functional team environments
  • Able to work well under pressure, multi-task, and deliver on multiple priorities
  •

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree preferred: MBA, or relevant Master’s Degree in technical field of study
  • Prior experience as a growth, strategy, technology, and/or corporate development analyst
  • Knowledge and/or experience in corporate strategy functions, including market entry, new business models in public sector, technology investment strategy development, and the product management lifecycle
