SAIC is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division (NSWC-CR) Facility Management Branch, providing general maintenance solutions to repair NSWC-CR facilities; physical portfolio encompassing over 300 facility assets totaling over 3 million square feet in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provide general maintenance services for repair projects using practical skill and knowledge at the apprentice/journeyman level
  • Conduct general maintenance in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work
  • Tools required to properly, and safely execute the general maintenance work requirements shall be provided
  • Develop, submit, and track work permits for all work effort performed
  • General maintenance work that alters or otherwise modifies existing facility or facility system configurations shall be thoroughly documented for eventual incorporation into facility floor plans, layouts, and system furniture drawings

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED) with three (3) years of experience or more in general maintenance
  • Must have experience in general maintenance in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and/or electrical work
  • Ability to understand and comprehend blueprints/specifications
  • Proficient in using computer software to document work to include, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel within the customer organization and with external planning and execution agents

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; an Interim Secret is required to start, SAIC will help to obtain
