Job Description


SAIC has an immediate need for a Cybersecurity Manager to support the NASA Integrated Communications Services (NICS) contract at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.  The NICS contract provides high quality integrated communications services for secure voice, video and data solutions and services to NASA customers worldwide.  This role would serve as the NICS Cybersecurity Focal at GSFC and report to the program Cybersecurity lead.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide team leadership for a full spectrum Center Cybersecurity service
  • Conduct and/or direct risk and vulnerability assessment on the GSFC network and systems
  • Develops and implements security controls and formulates operational risk mitigations
  • Provide a leadership role at the Center for security awareness programs
  • Provide functional leadership on a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic analysis, and network access
  • Utilizes COTS/GOTS and custom tools and processes/procedures in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities, and intrusions
  • Conducts a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed
  • Support cyber metrics development, maintenance and reporting
  • Provide briefings to senior staff both with the program and Center leadership
  • Support projects and initiatives as the Cybersecurity subject matter expert
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve technical and non-technical challenges assigned to


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related fields
  • 18+ years experience


Required Skills:

  • NIST Risk Management Framework experience
  • Network/Server system administration
  • System Forensics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data analytics to develop actionable reports and status
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-task, operational environment with deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor members of the staff
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior customers on a daily basis
