SAIC is seeking a Information Security Systems Analyst with Information Assurance to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in providing support to the U.S. Navy’s engineering community support the DDG 1000 Class of ships. This position will be located in the San Diego, Ca. Limited travel may be required.

Put skills and energy to work in a future of excellence aiding our Navy in their quest to protect our nation. The qualified applicant will become part of SAIC’s support of the DDG 1000 Class of ships Program Office (within PEO Ships), providing Information Systems Security Engineering (ISSE). 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Authors and performs all tasking via formally documented information security processes and procedures.
  • Assesses and documents applicability of STIGs, IAVAs, IAVBs, and IAVTs to systems and subsystems.
  • Ensures and reports correct application of STIGs, IAVAs, IAVBs, and IAVTs via the chain of command to the project’s Designated Approving Authority (DAA).
  • Authors a variety of information security documents in accordance with DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and Risk Management Framework (RMF). Provide support to Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages and working toward obtaining an Authority-to-Operate (ATO).
  • Providing input to Plan of Actions & Milestones (POAM), testing Security Technical Implementation Guideline (STIG’s) and identify deficiencies and providing recommendations of risk mitigation to client.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce information systems security policies ensuring system security requirements during all phases of the acquisition and Information System (IS) lifecycle.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

  • B.S. Degree in Information Security, Informatics, Computer Science, Computer engineering or related technical field and five (5) years of experience; or nine (9) years of applicable work experience in lieu of degree.

Required skills:

  • Must have experience with STIGs, IAVAs, IAVBs, and IAVTs to systems and subsystems.
  • Must be able to submit Information security documents in accordance with DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and Risk Management Framework (RMF). Provide support to Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages and working toward obtaining an Authority-to-Operate (ATO).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in team environments that can include broad and diverse memberships (functional, technical, and management).
  • Analytical and critical thinking and problem solving skills, to work several tasks concurrently, to identify needs and requirements, and to develop recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. 

Certification requirement:

  • Industry certifications required for an IAT Level I in accordance with DoD 8140.01

Required clearance:

  • Must have an active Secret Security Clearance.

Desired skills:

  • Have experience as an Information Systems Security Engineering (ISSE)
  • Have cloud knowledge either AWS or Azure, preferably Azure
  • Have experience working with a Fed RAMP package
  • Have experience using Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS) and Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM)
  • Experience on using a Nessus scanner
  • Visio and Project proficiency desired.
