Job Description


SAIC has an immediate need for a Sr. Storage & Data Management Services Engineer with our customer in College Park, MD. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Your role with SAIC will keep you engaged in a diverse, fast-paced government environment while interacting with government stakeholders, team members and  SAIC management.

Responsibilities include:  


 Provide engineering inputs to the design, planning and implementation of Storage and Data Management Services solutions (e.g., shared and/or dedicated storage, tiered storage, platforms, supporting infrastructure, encryption, replication, security, scheduling) to meet customer Storage and Data


Management Services requirements and service level requirements(SLRs).


Plan, schedule, monitor and trouble-shoot recurring job cycles to meet Daily/Weekly and Monthly customer requirements and SLRs.


Update and maintain process and procedures for the delivery of Storage and Data Management Services (ie. Data Protection, Storage, Replication).


Establish and maintain data retention policies to meet customer requirements and SLRs.


Test and validate backup media to ensure incremental and full recovery of data in accordance with customer requirements and SLRs.


Establish procedures and recover files, file system or other data required from backup media, as required or requested by the customer in accordance with contractual SLRs.


Plan, schedule, monitor and trouble-shoot data replication services to the customer Disaster Recovery Data Center for requested customer applications and data.


Plan, schedule, and execute Quarterly recurring and as required firmware and software updates


Interface with OEM vendors to provide support for Storage and Data Management Services software and hardware components as required. Experience with EMC storage, Rubrik, AWS S3, Glacier Archive.


Provision storage to meet customer requirements in accordance with SLRs.


Interfaces directly with other members of the Storage and Data Management Services team, other Data Center service delivery team members, 3rd party IT service providers/sub-contracting personnel, other managed services delivery team members, and customer technical interfaces.
Note: This position is temporarily a remote/ virtual / work from home position due to COVID-19, but will ultimately be required to be on-site in College Park, MD with possibility of remote work once restrictions are lifted for this location





• Bachelor’s degree and (9) or more years of experience, 

•Must have at least 3 years of Data / Storage experience 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Must be able to obtain a US Public Trust clearance
• Self-motivated, professional, with demonstrated progressive experience
• Experience with data compliance and data security
• Experience with modern data management approaches
• Experience with EMC storage, Rubrik, AWS S3, Glacier Archive
• Previous FDA experience desired
