SAIC has an immediate need for an experienced HPC Engineer who is also a High Performance Computing (HPC) Subject Matter Expert supporting our customer in College Park, MD. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Your role with SAIC will keep you engaged in a diverse, fast-paced government environment while interacting with government stakeholders, team members and SAIC management.
Provide technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming the logical, physical, and process views.
Define network strategy with respect to technology domain standards and design goals
Develop and maintain network roadmaps, which include product selection, versions, upgrades, projects and milestones,
Support research activities include readings, proof-of-concepts (POC), and lab testing. Communicate leading practices by giving presentations, working with program/project teams, and authoring content aimed at educating others about standards, strategies, and otherwise defined leading practices.
Note: This position is temporarily a remote/ virtual / work from home position due to COVID-19, but will ultimately be required be on-site in College Park, MD with possibility of remote once restrictions are lifted for this location
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years’ of work related experience
Degree fields include science, chemistry, physics, engineering, information systems, computer science, MIS. May accept an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
•Experience with automation and orchestration tools
•Deep understanding of TCP/IP and routing and switching technologies
•Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Open Network Solutions
•Deep understanding of TCP/IP and routing/switching technologies
•Ability to program with one or more scripting languages including Python, Ruby, TCL, Perl, PHP
•Knowledge of network function virtualization Virtual router/ switch, virtual FW, Virtual Load Balancers
•Familiarity with software defined networking (SDN) Network Disaggregation technologies and methodologies along with open source solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to obtain a US Public Trust clearance
• Self-motivated, professional, with demonstrated progressive experience
• Previous FDA experience desired
