Description

SAIC is seeking a Technical Services Support candidate to join our team. The individual selected for this position will work as part of an integrated team consisting of operational maintenance experts, software developers, and System Technical Subject Matter Experts supporting a key Department of Homeland Security information technology system that plays a key role in protecting the public.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·Provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging computer systems, complex software, databases or networked and/or wireless systems.

·Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed in order to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

·Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to the Team's design engineering/software engineering members.

·May be involved in end user installation and training.

·Provides direct support to users in support a complicated set of software applications. Additionally, may interact with product support personnel and potentially the customer when the customer's problem cannot be resolved directly by first and second level incident and\or problem management resources.

·Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Work is reviewed by management to measure whether objectives have been met.

·Mostly works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions when appropriate including custom database scripts and design. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

·Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

·Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

·Bachelors degree and five (5) years or more experience; Masters degree and three (3) years or more experience. Degrees should be technical or science field, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.

·US Citizen and Ability to Obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance.

·Demonstrated ability to develop a solid understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts and use those to support users in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.

·Required experience includes:

o    1-2 years of Oracle Database

o   Customer Service

Desired Qualifications

  • o   Remedy ticketing software experience
  • o   Experience monitoring a high availability system
  • o    ITIL Certification(s)
