SAIC is looking to hire a Technical Writer to join the PPSS program located in Huntsville, AL!

Job Duties:

  • Review and edit written intelligence products in accordance with the customer style guide.
  • Validate content sourced in written products for accuracy and completeness using multiple platforms.
  • Recommend areas of research to the customer to write additional products.
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the systems / processes / procedure and the documentation requirements
  • Write technical and process documentation for various audiences, including but not limited to CDRL reports, Software Design Documents, Requirements, Deployment Plans, RCAs, Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Collaborate with team to write essential internal documentation that builds shared understanding

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

  • Must have an active/current Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or 10 additional years experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience editing, researching and writing professional documents
  • Experience in multitasking and working under tight deadlines. 
  • Experience working both independently and as a team working a deliverable
  • Experience researching and writing excellent documentation and examples for lead system engineer, Program management, and/or developers
  • Experience with MS Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple, high, & competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels
  • Able to learn other document generation software (DOORS, Rational Publishing Engine [RPE])
