SAIC seeks a highly experienced military space operations subject expert with experience with Air Force or Space Force Satellite Contol Network (SCN) operations to assist HQ Space Operations Command fulfill its vital role in delivering national security space capabilites worldwide.  The successful candidate will join an expert team at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, supporting Space Force leaders in managing all aspects of SCN operational decision-making and support. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical expertise/recommendationsregarding SCN employment, sustainment, and modernization efforts as well as those for the future Ground Enterprise Next (GEN) Data Transmit/Receive Network (DTRN), Enterprise Ground Services (EGS), and Defensive Cyber Operations-Space (DCO-S) initiatives.
• Plan, facilitate and participate in meetings/telecons by preparing briefings, talking points, meeting agenda and meeting minutes
• Develop, review and gain stakeholder input to, and agreement on, SCN and GEN related planning and support documents. 
• Analyze and recommend updates to SCN architecture, policies, guidance, concepts, operational requirements, technical specifications, sustainment project documents. 
• Conduct sustainment engineering analyses of SCN communication segment hardware and software; determine correct location and proper use of communication equipment. 
• Support development of annual Program Objective Memoranda (POM). Assist in execution of LRN Program Element Monitor tasks. 

 

 

Qualifications

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 9 years SCN experience, including demonstrated:
- Proficiency in Satellite Operations, including mission data retrieval, plus tracking, telemetry and commanding.
- Proficiency reading/interpreting network/circuit diagrams and creating/editing Gantt charts. 
- Proficiency mediating network disputes involving more than one service provider
- Knowledge of SCN operational processes, organizations and overarching operating concepts.

- Knowledge of comand and control of space forces, radar operations and analysis of EIRP, Max/Min dBm, modulations, orbitology. 
- Knowledge of DISA TSR/TCO messages.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably technical

SECURITY CLEARANCE: TS/SCI eligible, U.S. Citizen

Target salary range: $115,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
