Description
SAIC is seeking a Acquisition Systems Engineer Chief to join the National Security and Space Sector (NSSS) in our Chantilly, VA office. NSSS provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. Our program supports the research and development of the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.
NSSS has an opening for a Acquisition Systems Engineer to work closely with a diverse team of engineers and scientist developing and implementing the future ground-based architecture. This position provides Systems Engineering discipline to an organization supporting the research and development of revolutionary ground-based systems. This position supports the development and execution of program activities acquiring cutting edge capabilities and prototypes.
Unique Duties:
· Provide technical support including the review and assessment of satellite concepts, architectures, systems (both space and ground), technologies, interfaces, and operations.
· Support Agile SAFe program development processes and activities
· Work with government technical and contracts staff developing acquisition strategies enabling program development and implementation
· Work with government technical and contracts staff developing program acquisition packages
· Draft contractual documents for government contracts officer review and signature
· Provide acquisition advisory services during technical and cost evaluations of proposals
Common Duties:
· Effectively work with development teams to track technical progress, identify blockers to progress, and assess technical solutions
· Work with technical staff documenting technical and programmatic requirements
· Enter funding information into customer's financial tools
· Develop acquisition packages in accordance with government acquisition checklists
· Draft common acquisition artifacts such as statements of work, Contract Data Requirements Lists, In Scope Determinations, and proposal evaluation criteria
· Provide acquisition advisory services during technical and cost evaluations of proposals
Qualifications
· Active TS/SCI with Poly
· BS with 18 years experience or MS with 16 years experience in business or related discipline
· Acquisition support experience of 5+ years
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and environment
· Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and communications skills
Desired Qualifications:
· Satellite ground experience
· Experience building architectural representations to inform management decision making
· Experience with Agile development practices and SAFe processes
