SAIC currently has a job opening for an experienced Procurement Analyst in North Charleston, SC. Candidate will procure goods and administer purchase orders/Long Term Agreements of moderate to high dollar value, risk, and complexity. Buyer will report directly to the Purchasing Manager. Please note that this is not an entry level position and requires direct procurement experience.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include the development and negotiation of favorable prices, terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and Long Term Agreements, ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures.
  • Administer and maintain Purchase Order and Long Term Agreement files in accordance with all SAIC policies and procedures.
  • Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Recommends suppliers based on gathered information and may also recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
  • Directly supports multiple ongoing Government Programs.
  • Provide support to follow-on pricing efforts and new proposal efforts.
  • Assume other responsibilities as requested in support of departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years’ of related experience. 8 Years of procurement experience is acceptable in lieu of the Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must be well versed and experienced in US Government procurement requirements
  • Must understand and have the ability to implement FAR & DFAR requirements on purchase orders and Long Term Agreements

Required Skills:

  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Solid communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to communicate across several levels of staff and customers/vendors.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct status briefings; prepare and staff weekly updates.
  • Strong team player.
  • Highly experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit critical thinking and analytical skills.

Target salary range: $55,001 - $65,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
