Job Description


SAIC is seeking an organized and motivated Test Engineer who will work effectively in a fast-paced environment.  You will work on-site at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI.  You will provide support to NUWCDIVNPT for the Surface Ship Torpedo Defense (SSTD) program and perform integration and verification testing of production NIXIE systems. The position requirements are as follows: 

•    Responsible for identifying facility requirements to support simultaneous integration and testing of multiple production units.
•    Development of inventory process to manage component intake, storage and system verification.
•    Responsibility for managing integration and testing scheduling.
•    Familiar with military standards for environmental testing of shipboard systems.
•    Provide direct interface with customer, to include project management staff, facility management staff and software development staff.
•    Provide direct interface with production contractor to coordinate scheduling and shipments.
•    Responsible for review of test procedures and methods to ensure proper verification of system performance requirements.
•    Responsible for managing test conduct in accordance with documented plans and procedures.
•    Responsible for developing tracking methods/documentation process for maintaining verification records.


Required Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
•    Two (2) or more years of experience
•    Must either possess or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Required Skills:
•    Proficiency reading PCB schematics and system interconnect diagrams
•    Familiarity with Xilinx FPGAs/MPSoCs, Vivado/SDK, and programming custom Xilinx based CCAs
•    Proficiency with multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators
•    Knowledge of network topologies and troubleshooting networking issues (copper and fiber)
•    Familiarity of safety protocols while dealing with high voltage (hundreds of volts)
•    Familiarity with system grounding schemes and debugging system grounding issues

Desired Skills:
•    Familiarity with MATLAB and basic signal processing
•    Familiarity with Wireshark 
•    Familiarity with EAGLE
