SAIC’s Software Integration Service Line is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join other technical professionals in SAIC’S contract in support of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB).   The FRTIB administers the Thrift Savings Plan which provides Federal employees the opportunity to save for retirement.  FRTIB manages retirement assets for more than 4.5 million participants worldwide.  The position is responsible for supporting such phases of the software development life cycle including requirements gathering, architecture and design, coding, and testing.  The candidate should be a self-starter who has experience working with the Agile software development methodology and will be responsible for developing and documenting design that meets the functional and technical requirements and adheres to software development best practices.  The candidate will support the initial phase of gathering user requirements and will then be required to translate requirements into system design and specifications.  The candidate will design new features for a large project, collaborate with the development team, and present design to the customers.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant work experience required
  • Significant knowledge of Java and JEE internals (classloading, memory management, transaction management, etc.)
  • Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Spring MVC, etc.)
  • Must be proficient with Java build automation tools such as maven and ant
  • Knowledge of RDBMS (experience designing tables, writing stored procedures, optimizing queries, etc.) is highly desired
  • Java developer responsibilities including designing, developing, testing and documenting high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, adhering to software engineering best practices
  • Experienced with JSP
  • Experienced with jQuery/Javascript/CSS/HTML
  • Experienced with JBoss (we don’t need to specify versions but the nice to have is JBoss EAP)
  • Experienced with Linux OS
  • Able to work in a structured environment and understanding the importance of source control, builds and CM activities
  • Knowledge of Mainframe is a plus – understanding Object Oriented programming and being able to flatten data structures out to interface with non-object oriented systems such as mainframe applications and SQL-based databases
  • Is a team player and communicates
  • Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
