Description

SAIC is seeking an exceptional experienced Principal Cloud Computer Engineer to support the Air Force's next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition. Our customer is the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This professional will work with the GBSD IT branch of our customer the USAF.

Responsibilities will include: Designs, plans, and integrates cloud computing and virtualization systems. Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, cloud service provider selection, implementation techniques, application data migration techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Develops and conducts testing of cloud and virtualization systems. Maintains technical expertise relevant industry standards and in cloud computing and virtualization technologies such as cloud service provider architecture, design, and configuration; cloud deployment models including public, community, private, and hybrid; cloud service delivery models including infrastructure, platform, and software-as-a-service; automation; hypervisors; containers; virtual compute, storage, and networks; virtual infrastructure management; self-provisioning; and scaling. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Individual's tasks will be focusing on migrating on-prem applications into the cloud at multiple classification levels and will be required to report to senior leaders regularly on progress. Remote work allowed if the individual has access to CV2 or Misty Sierra terminals (in a SAPF) that can access the DOD SAP CIO’s Fences Cloud.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

           Bachelors and twelve (12) years or more experience

  • DoD 8570 - IAT Level II or higher certification
  • Experience with Government Cloud environments, AWS, and DevOps
  • Experience working in a software application development environment
  • Experience with CI/CD automation tools and components like Cloud Formation, AWS Code, Puppet, Jenkins, circleCI, Tavis, codepipeline, Selenium, Bit Bucket, Bamboo, Ansible, Nagios.  Writing scripts for “Infrastructure as Code”, including Terraform.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in container, cloud native platform like Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience managing solutions in virtual environments with VMware products vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, ESX, vSAN
  • Experience using Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to obtain data initiate action.
  • Knowledge and understanding of AWS services, including but not limited to VPC, EC2, Containers, S3, ELB, RDS, Route53, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch, WAF, HSM/KMS, IAM, Code Commit, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline, Elastic Bean Stalk, Cloud Trail, and API Gateways.
  • Exposure or experience with new infrastructure approaches, including Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), Software Defined Networking (SDN), Software Defined Storage (SDS), Hyper-converged Infrastructure (HCI), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), infrastructure security
  • Minimum TS security clearance

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
