SAIC has an opening for a Drafter / CAD Operator I in Bedford, IN. 

Job Description: 
In this role you will support a team creating/updating Technical Data Packages. 

Job Duties: 

  • Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Works closely with the customer and engineers, senior technicians, and drafters to capture design.
  • Assigns parts, subassemblies and/or assemblies to drafters and works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation.
  • Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and uses tools to include calipers, gauge tools, tape measures and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation of first article pieces.

Qualifications

Education Reuirements:

  • Degree in related discipline; Or, High School and up to two (2) years of related experience with certification. 

Required Experience:

  • Experience with SolidWorks, SolidEdge, and Creo (desired).
  • Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of currently accepted manufacturing processes and ISO procedures required.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas in a production floor environment.
  • Ability to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instruction.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. 

Desired:

  • Knowledge of ASME standards, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Technical Data Packages, and military drawing standards.
