SAIC has an opening for a Senior Digital Forensic Analyst. This position is 100% remote and can be worked nationwide. 

The Senior Digital Forensic Analyst is responsible for a broad range of responsibilities with a primary emphasis on supporting the ESOC 24/7 incident response by providing host and network forensic analysis.  The main functions of this role are supporting personnel investigations and remediation of security incidents. The Analyst will work closely with the Cyber Incident Response Team members, the ESOC Managers, the Insider Threat Team, the Legal team, members of the other Cyber teams, and other internal organizations to successfully lead the remediation and closure activities related to security incidents or potential threats to the company. The Senior Forensic Analyst will leverage security technologies and industry best practices to manage information security incidents, investigations, and related events across the distributed enterprise.

Implement and Perform Service Delivery of Digital Forensics:

  • Perform Digital Forensic analysis and research and development in support of the ESOC functions and requirements.
  • Conduct seizures of digital evidence from onsite and remote search locations while minimizing possible data loss maintaining proper chain of custody and volatile data capture.
  • Perform indepth data analysis on various data and media types through the application of advanced methods, tools, and research techniques.
  • Facilitate and lead meetings or discussions pertaining to digital forensic results and/or analysis.
  • Examiners shall conduct duties commonly associated with forensic analyses and research.
  • The examiner shall rely on industry best practices to drive ESOC forensic processes.
  • Develop the expertise to extract evidence from a variety of data sources.

Implement and Perform Service Delivery of Incident Response:

  • Conduct and lead incident response activities (triage, root cause analysis, escalations, notifications, communication, etc.) resulting from Information Security incidents consistent with Incident Response processes and procedures.
  • Establish and leverage external relationships to obtain cyber and InfoSec threats with context for how it impacts SAIC.
  • Contribute to continued improvement of Incident Response processes and procedures.
  • Usage of security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances and hostbased security systems.
  • Compile and analyze both internal and external data to be used to author / contribute to incident reports and after action analysis reports.

Perform other Functions of Monitoring, Investigation and Collaboration:

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced security analysts.
  • Support the process of searching, locating, and securing data with the intent to use it as evidence for legal cases. Collected data is filtered, processed and reviewed for relevance.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience, Master's Degree and 3+ years of experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 6 years of practical technology experience with 4 years in an information security discipline.
  • Must have knowledge of information security components, principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Must have knowledge of web application, infrastructure, and Internet security along with a general understanding of common operating systems, networking protocols, database, and application development.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fastpaced, high volume, results driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral/written) including ability to clearly communicate risks and risk management issues to technologists and nontechnologists.
  • Ability to investigate complex scenarios and solve problems.
  • Experience with several industry standard forensic and digital analysis tools.
  • Solid understanding of Hacker Methodologies (techniques, procedures, skill levels).
  • Must be a US Citizen. 

Preferred:

  • One or more Information Security certifications (e.g. CISSP or GIAC) preferred.
  • Certifications and training in incident response, computer forensics and related are preferred.

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
