SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who is passionate about supporting the daily and strategic efforts of a Marine Corps acquisition program. 

This will be a remote position with regular attendance for customer meetings at multiple locations (Stafford, VA, Quantico, DC, and Fredericksburg, VA.). 

The candidate will be working with our talented team of engineers, logisticians and program support personnel to design and build the next generation of precision fires systems for the United States Marine Corps. These systems will support programs designed to provide Marine Corps maneuver units with an organic precision fires capability.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead government systems engineer in all facets of program support.  This includes supporting and performing technical analysis, and engineering support to facilitate the design, development, implementation and sustainment of a material solution.
  • Ensure the application of appropriate scientific principles to meet technical requirements and trace requirements to system and test specifications.
  • Provide input to and/or develop documents, reports, briefings and develop plans to ensure proper integration of technology and engineering.
  • Develop system architecture, evaluate design trade-offs, balance technical risk between systems, support the assessment of user interfaces and support the oversight of validation and verification activities. 
  • Test Engineering to include test concept development, test planning, test execution and test reporting.

Qualifications

Required Education and Clearance:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with the systems engineering discipline as it relates to the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition process.
  • Ability to prepare and edit program documentation (ie..Systems Engineering Plans, Test and Evaluation Master Plans, test plans and System Safety Program Plans).
  • Able to work independently and efficiently within program deadlines.
  • Willingness to CONUS and OCONUS travel (25%).

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with weapons systems or UAV's.
  • Experience with fire support systems and their command/control architecture.
  • Experience with programmatic documentation that supports the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition process.
