SAIC’s Safety and Mission Assurance Engineering Contract (SMAEC) has an opening for a Software Engineer (web developer) to work with our team in support of NASA JSC Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) in Houston, Texas. The individual will participate in systems development activities in support of the NASA SMA Business Office and be responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of web applications.
The individual will work collaboratively with peers to design, code, test, debug and modify moderately complex systems. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively. The candidate will work directly with customers to clarify and document requirements. Candidate will frequently interact with customers and peer groups and prepare and conduct stand-up and one-on-one status reviews with customers and management. Candidate will support existing applications as well as develop new ones. Candidate will be responsible to develop and maintain personal work plans and schedules.
Candidate must be able to work with little instructions on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments, and must be able to develop and maintain personal work plans and schedules. Candidate must also possess solid communication skills and interact effectively with all levels of personnel. The ability to work closely with others in a team environment is highly required.
Excellent oral and above average written communications skills; Ability to develop excellent working relationships with customers, peers, and management; Ability to utilize Microsoft Office to prepare reports, presentations, and charts
Basic knowledge and use of typical business software (Microsoft office – Word, Excel, etc.; presentation graphics).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Programming skills must include CSS, jQuery, Ajax, ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC Framework, Classic ASP, LINQ, and C#.
Experience in a Microsoft Windows environment with Visual Studio.NET and SQL Server Management Studio is required.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. 5 – 9 years related experience
