Join a winning team!  SAIC’s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring for a customer within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA. This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Professional to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer for complex space and ground efforts as part of an exciting and innovative set of programs.

The M&S Professional supports the System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of M&S software development and acquisitions that advance the National Reconnaissance Office’s (NRO) space resiliency posture.  The M&S Professional is an individual contributor and member of a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that work to support the Government through lifecycle systems engineering and management processes to deliver desired capabilities and meet overall program objectives.  Specifically, the M&S Professional will serve as on-site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) to:  

  • Work side-by-side with subject matter experts and advise Government acquisitions in M&S capabilities related to orbital mechanics, spacecraft design, optics, communications and/or a variety of combined scenarios
  • Interact with a diverse gov't and SETA team to improve understanding of how new technologies will support the customer's mission objectives
  • Evaluate M&S tools and methods used to assist with analysis of complex, technical problems related to a wide variety of spacecraft and systems
  • Work with the customer to explore new missions, Concept of Operations (CONOPs), and M&S architectures to solve some of the hardest intelligence problems facing the nation
  • Guide the customer transition to new computing environments and impartially evaluate associated risks such as cost, technology, and security challenges
  • Develop project schedules and participate in virtual TEMs to reach requirement consensus and capture strategic capabilities for customers
  • Interact and advise procurement of M&S solutions across a variety of computing architectures. 
  • Develop integration strategies for workflow automation strategies that leverage the M&S architecture environment
  • Communicate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure milestones are progressing well and addressing requirements
  • Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, brief government and industry as required

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Counter-Intelligence polygraph
  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

  • Experience applying modeling and simulation techniques to address engineering challenges
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Aptitude for on-site SETA work alongside the government customer
  • Effective team engagement, interpersonal communications, writing, and briefing skills

Desired:

  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge and experience in IC/DoD acquisition process
  • Experience with overhead collection, processing architecture, and/or space systems
