SAIC has an immediate opening for a Senior Cyber Tradecraft Engineer to join a collaborative, dynamic team in a mission-focused environment.  You will support the analysis of security threats and develop tactics, techniques and processes to mitigate potential security concerns. You will apply your detailed knowledge of the internet, interactions between browsers and websites, digital footprints, commercial messaging applications and their capabilities, adversary tactics, and trends. You will also collaborate with instructional designers to help develop training content, and provide subject matter expertise during training sessions and operational scenarios. The successful candidate is an innovative, self-starting problem solver with the aptitude to tackle technical challenges and is capable of working in a fast-paced development environment with little assistance.

 

Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI with Poly
• 15+ years documented work history in an Information Technology or related analyst/engineer position
• Strong understanding of how the internet works
• Strong understanding of how browsers interact with websites
• Strong understanding of VPS, VPN, and VPC
• Strong understanding of encryption
• Additionally, the candidate should have documented experience in some (not all) of the following topics:
  • Management of Virtual Machines/Environments, Virtual Box
  • Forensics (Computer, Network or Memory)
  • Understanding of Commercial Messaging Applications and their Capabilities
  • Use of tools such as Wireshark, Network Miner, Burp Suite, Encase, Guidance Software, PGP, GPG
  • Windows System Administration and/or Linux Systems Administration
  • Cloud-based infrastructure
  • Linux, Android, Windows and/or OS X Internals
  • Strong understanding of operations

• Ability to communication complex technical topics to a non-technical audience and present technical topics in a training environment
• Ability to document technical topics and procedures for training use (content, lesson plans, assessments) in a professional manner
• Willing to travel 2-3 weeks, two or three times a year
