Then consider joining the members of the Enterprise Systems Engineering and Architecture team as they aid our customer in collaborating, integrating, and standardizing the engineering approach across the customers enterprise.
We have a current need for an experienced Systems Engineer who is also a High Performance Computing (HPC) Subject Matter Expert at our customer's Annapolis Junction facility. The selected systems engineer will:
Provide technical design and architectural leadership, including documenting and diagramming the logical, physical, and process views.
Define network strategy with respect to technology domain standards and design goals,
Develop and maintain network roadmaps, which include product selection, versions, upgrades, projects and milestones,
Lead efforts for network technology evaluations, which involves identifying a weighted feature matrix for a specific need and evaluating and scoring products against the desired features, and
Support research activities include readings, proof-of-concepts (POC), and lab testing. Communicate leading practices by giving presentations, working with program/project teams, and authoring content aimed at educating others about standards, strategies, and otherwise defined leading practices.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
This positions require a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline and at least 20 years of systems engineering experience. A Master’s or PhD Degree may be substituted for two years of experience. Note: A High School Diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
Experience with automation and orchestration tools like Salt, Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
Deep understanding of TCP/IP and routing and switching technologies
Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Open Network Solutions
Deep understanding of TCP/IP and routing/switching technologies
Ability to program with one or more scripting languages including Python, Ruby, TCL, Perl, PHP, YAML
Knowledge of network function virtualization Virtual router/ switch, virtual FW, Virtual Load Balancers
Familiarity with software defined networking (SDN) Network Disaggregation technologies and methodologies along with open source solutions.
This is a full time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year.
Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:
Familiarity with Intelligence Community and/or DoD acquisition lifecycles, software development methodologies, information security engineering concepts, cloud computing methodologies and/or SOA-enabling technologies.
Familiarity with Cameo, System Architect, Magic Draw, Sparx, Rhapsody, or Power Designer Architecture Tool Suites.
