Job Description


SAIC is seeking a motivated and dedicated Program Control Associate to support multiple programs within the Army IT/C5ISR Operation of SAIC’s Defense & Civilian Sector.

The optimal candidate for this junior/entry-level position is able to demonstrate a strong analytical acumen, consistent time management ability, and willing flexibility on a daily basis.  The position will entail various and numerous functions supporting the team’s overall project planning, control, and variance analysis efforts across multiple programs.  Familiarity with government contracting and with multiple program types (CPFF, CPAF, T&M, LOE, FPLOE, FFP, IDIQ’s, etc.) is a plus.

Only candidates local to Northern VA, Huntsville, AL, or San Diego, CA areas will be considered for remote possibilities.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Through consistent upkeep and completion of assigned tasks, assists in the preparation of financial deliverables and internal/external reports to include Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, monthly latest revised estimates (LREs), and Estimates At Complete (EACs).
  • Participates in the development of budgets (spend plans) for assigned programs, tracks weekly/monthly actuals compared to plans, and performs financial analysis on funding profiles and program financial variances.
  • Maintains communication with senior team members (and assigned program/task leads) along the way to help avoid surprises.
  • Participates in cost, schedule, and contract performance variance analysis.
  • Submits and maintains purchase requisitions for subcontractors, consultants, and materials.  Monitors subcontractor costs and reviews/approves subcontractor invoices.  Assists in preparing and reporting monthly subcontractor accruals.  Tracks and submits Goods Receipt updates for purchased materials.
  • Prepares customer invoice backup documentation.
  • Assists with reviewing and supporting Request for Proposals (RFPs), pricing models and cost analysis.
  • Must be able to multi-task and support program(s) with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Become well versed in the entire life cycle of a program from proposal development through contract close out.


Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a Finance or Accounting discipline with zero (0) years related experience

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of general and corporate business practices, government contracting regulations and principles, and accounting and finance principles.
  • Can make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, accounting principles.
  • Ability to balance long-term thinking with short-term execution.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to perform effectively within deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with supervision, and in a team/collaborative environment, with persistence be persistent in follow-through.
  • Proficient in MS Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Costpoint and Cognos.

Target salary range: $55,001 - $65,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
