Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Web UI/UX Designer to join our team. This position can be worked 100% remote nationwide. This candidate will work as part of a collaborative web application/system development team to design, develop, customize, maintain, enhance and support client's UI/UX web applications, systems and tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide design support for the analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance and support of the client's web-based systems utilizing current industry programming techniques.
  • Collaborate with team members and end users to analyze, design, develop and enhance user interfaces, user guides, reports, documentation and presentations.
  • Develop conceptual user interface design models and templates.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Develop and deliver comparative analysis demonstrations and other presentations to end users and client.
  • Assist with creation and editing of technical documentation (i.e. user guides, system manuals, etc.).
  • Collaborate to identify and present innovative ideas and opportunities for functional prototypes, new design layouts, solutions, modifications and enhancements.
  • Conceptualize, design, and prototype excellent user experiences while maintaining functionality and simple workflows.
  • Collaborate with client and end users to identify and develop design goals and requirements.
  • Research and implement modern web technologies to create innovative user interfaces and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Research and implement modern web technologies to create innovative user interfaces and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Develop and share recommendations on industry best practices on information architecture, user experience, accessibility compliance, and use of graphics, mobile optimization, responsiveness and other web best practices.
  • Create visual concepts by using Adobe XD.
  • Build efficient, reusable libraries and components of design information for future use.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices.
  • Apply results of web usability testing development of applications and web sites.
  • Ability to think like an end user and design interfaces appropriately.
  • Able to sketch and explain complex ideas and interactions.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 0 years of relevant experience, AS degree and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant education background and/or 2+ years working experience in web UI/UX design
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be eligible to obtain U.S. DHS Public Trust security clearance
  • Able to complete a knowledge assessment questionnaire
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Windows, primarily)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS
  • Demonstrated experience developing with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap
  • Demonstrated experience implementing front-end, user experience design and development
  • Demonstrated experience applying best practices for web accessibility, usability, and technical implementation
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining a web and/or CMS applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience implementing industry standards for user experience methodologies, design technical resources, and web best practices
  • 1+ year experience with business workflow and appropriate capabilities /tools (e.g. TFS, etc.)
  • Experience developing with React
  • Experience with using GitHub and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Section 508 accessibility rules and requirements

Target salary range: $55,001 - $65,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
