SAIC has an immediate need for a Linux Systems Administrator to manage and administer enterprise infrastructure on a classified closed-restricted network supporting the Modeling and Simulation Branch of the Maneuver Battle Lab, Fort Benning, GA.

Job Description:

The Linux System Administrator ensures high availability of services such as Linux Identity Manager, DHCP, DNS, Virtualization using Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware. Provides and/or administers automated solutions for auditing, reporting, monitoring, inventory, and compliance enforcement using Ansible. Audit and review systems access and privileges to effectively enforce least privilege and reduce risk. Serve as escalation point for helpdesk personnel and provide guidance for other administrators when needed. Ensure systems and workstations are baselined and follow a congruent security policy. Provide scalable PXE Linux imaging solutions with lite-touch network deployments and automated software installations, patches, and updates. Plan and execute server migrations and resource optimization in the server room.
 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience.  Additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of education. 

Required Skills:

  • DoD Baseline IAT-II certifications (CompTIA A+ & Security+, or equivalent)
  • Possess or obtain CompTIA Linux+ within 90 days of hire

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with enterprise systems administration, Storage Area Network/Network Accessible storage technologies, developing and baselining Linux distributions, common productivity software, common browsers, managing Hyper-V and VMware virtualized environments, developing and maintaining compliance through using DISA STIGs, DoD Risk Management Framework, and Linux repository.
  • Experience with the OneSAF simulation cluster and federated architectures is a plus.

Required Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance required
