Job Description


SAIC is looking for a SCA Painter/ Engineering Technician III in Indianapolis, IN to join our team!

Specific Tasking and Requirements:

  • Perform painting duties to include minor sanding, cleaning, masking, priming,  painting and stenciling
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the spray booth, keeping parts flowing through in a timely manner
  • Follow established process and other instructional documents in order to perform most assigned tasking
  • Manage, teach, and direct a “painter helper” person who would also perform cleaning, masking, applying and removing stencils, and other paint preparation work



High School diploma and 1+ year of related experience 

Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearancel US Citizenship required

Desired Skills: 

  • Has the knowledge base to assist with the management of installation and setup of a new spray booth system

  • Assist in the identification and ordering of supplemental spray both equipment and supplies needed to make a new spray booth fully operational

  • Has the knowledge base to keep and maintain (at a basic level) a spray booth system.  At a minimum be able to identify maintenance actions to keep the spray booth (compressor, ventilation system, etc) operating properly.

  • Has a minimum of one year experience preparing, masking, and painting parts (or cars, or similar) in a paint booth type environment.   Would like to have photo examples of previous work, if available.

  • Understand and manage (at a basic level) the day-to-day HAZMAT and PPE aspects of the spray booth operation

  • Keep track of the supplies on hand; order supplies and paint as required; monitor the budget associated with supplies

  • Basic mechanical aptitude, other than painting; ie:  Able and willing to perform basic mechanical assembly work if/when spray booth workload is low

  • Be able to lift 40 pounds on an infrequent basis

  • Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment

  • Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player

  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities
