The SAIC OMES-II Program Management Office (PMO) is adding a new position to serve as the Special Projects Manager to lead/manage targeted projects in alignment with optimizing operational excellence for the Omnibus Multidisciplinary Engineering Services (OMES) II contract.  These projects will require project management experience consistent with PMI PMBOK methodologies to ensure professional operation and completion of assigned projects.  Special projects will include optimizations of procurement, training, staffing, career development, and personnel assignment planning that accounts for mission and project life-cycle changes across the contract.  The selectee will report directly to the OMES-II Program Manager, and will work with other members of the PMO and SAIC corporate staff to understand OMES-II contract requirements, NASA customer missions and projects requirements, as well as short and long-term interests for our NASA and NOAA customers.  The SAIC OMES-II office is located in Lanham, MD; however during the CV-19 pandemic, support will be performed via telework. 

Roles and Responsibilities:  The selectee for this position will work closely with the OMES-II Program Director, the Deputy Program Director, and senior members of the PMO to execute assigned projects, as well as identify new projects that will optimize productivity and operational excellence.  These activities will also require routine interaction with subcontractor representatives and employees and will serve as a key leader for these interactions.   Occasional travel may be required. 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree and eighteen (18) or more years of related experience.
  • Personnel management.
  • Project Management experience and expertise.
  • Ability to analyze operational activities, break them down into discrete functions, and craft solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Successful management of high priority and high visibility business activities.
  • Past experience with materials procurement, NASA and US Government requirements, i.e., familiarity with applicable FAR requirements is highly desired.
  • Managing sometimes conflicting priorities, dense schedules, and challenging performance schedules.
  • Working with multiple companies and weighing their priorities as they related to overall specified business objectives.
  • Use of statistical analysis tools for compiling and interpreting metrics data.
  • Compilation of status and metrics reports for senior level managers and government officials.
  • Compilation of and presentation materials for presentation to diverse audiences, e.g., staff, managers, corporate officials, contractor partners, government officials.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite programs, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Proficient and professional oral and written communication skills.
