SAIC is seeking an aggressive and highly adaptable individual as a Procurement Analyst for a key role supporting the United States Marine Corps’ Future Weapons System/Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD) Program in Bedford, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
In support of the program’s counter Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) mission, the successful candidate will serve as the principal coordinator between the government customer/requestor and the buyers/vendors, while tracking and managing all procurements from initiation to completion. The candidate must have a strong background in both corporate and government procurements and be able to work as part of an integrated logistics team to synchronize efforts and reconcile records among the functional areas of procurement, shipping, receiving, and inventory management. Support includes the coordination and management of records; procurement documentation development; and analytical support for our government customer. This position provides logistics, program analyst, and data management functions to support the program. Individual must be able to work in a high paced, team environment and must be organized and detail oriented.
JOB DUTIES:
- Facilitate and coordinate the full acquisition and procurement of goods/services among internal contacts, government customer requestors, and Program Office level product support managers.
- Researches, sources, negotiates and facilitates the purchase of IT Hardware and software, fabricated parts, machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies and incidental services necessary for operation of the FWS/GBAD program.
- Monitors and tracks the procurement activity from initiation to completion and receipt of goods/services.
- Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
- Source and generate requests for quote and coordinate the DLA procurement cycle.
- Process invoices, purchase authorizations, and DLA procurement requests for program approval, including issuing RFQs, price analysis, tracking purchasing orders, and following up with internal customers to ensure the goods receipts are completed.
- Reviews proposals, recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, and maintains necessary records.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure materials and services are delivered on time.
- Control the efficient flow of information between the requestor through acquisition in order to meet customer requirements with frequent communication with internal company and external government entities.
- Review and maintain tracking spreadsheets to include new purchase requisitions, approvals and cancellations.
- Resolve delivery discrepancies resulting from purchases with the warehouse.
- Experience creating, reviewing, and submitting documents and reports, conducting detailed searches (creating reports) on documents, parts, and other material acquisition facets within the data management databases.
- Directly represent SAIC and our government customer in engagements with government Program Office level personnel.
- Frequent use and application of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project and Outlook) to execute word processing and generate electronic spreadsheets and databases.
- Work under general direction on routine work.
- Follows established procedures.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- High School diploma and eight (8) years or more of related experience; Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related experience.
- Prior experience in Procurement or a related field is highly desired.
- Moderate understanding of Procurement aspects and understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
- Selected candidate must be capable of applying job skills and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Full DoD Secret clearance and can start with an Interim Secret clearance.
