SAIC has an immediate need for a Systems Engineering Lead in Warren, Michigan to lead rapid and futuristic improvements in US Army ground vehicle capabilities. These improvements include development and demonstration of leading edge technologies for new manned and unmanned vehicles including integration and analysis of advanced sensor technologies, vehicle autonomy, and legacy system upgrades.

 

The Project Systems Engineering Lead (PSEL) leads a technical team in the development and demonstration of cutting-edge technology for the US Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC). The Project Systems Engineering Lead (PSEL) uses their experience in a broad range of Systems Engineering principles to lead the execution and delivery of engineering work products. The PSEL applies systems engineering processes, methods and tools over an entire project/product lifecycle of hardware and/or software programs.

Note: This role offers temporary work from home / remote / virtual work due to COVID-19.  Eventually the work will go back on site in Warren, MI.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and mature system requirements and interface control documents in requirements management tools
  • Conduct trade studies and comparative performance assessments of system, subsystem and component alternatives to inform overall system decisions/recommendations
  • Work with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and customers throughout the process to develop and demonstrate integrated system design in accordance with requirements
  • Lead systems engineering aspects of technical reviews including Systems Functional Review (SFR), Systems Requirement Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Test Readiness Review (TRR)
  • Develop requirement verification matrices for system, subsystem and component designs
  • Develop and implement metrics to measure product quality and development performance

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; four (4) years accepted in lieu of degree

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience leading Systems Engineering aspects of a project/product team
  • Experience in lifecycle of hardware systems, preferably robotics
  • Experience in system design, development, integration and verification testing of Automotive or Military ground vehicles

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Must have the ability to obtain an interim Secret Security clearance to begin working on the contract and able to obtain and maintain a full Secret Security clearance.
