SAIC is seeking a qualified Configuration Manager to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program out of Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio.
 
AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF has an M&S initiative that focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance. In the current resource constrained environment, demand for M&S rises with the continuously evolving need for operational readiness and mission preparedness across the USAF, DoD, and with coalition partners. AFAMS focuses on providing innovative M&S services as the key to meeting this demand.
 
The role of this position is to support the Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) team at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Candidate will participate in numerous Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across SCARS to assist in the following:

  • Develop Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) packages,
  • Provide continued support through the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes and provide Configuration Management expertise to the IPTs.  
  • Develop and modify configuration management plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the SCARS Program.
  • Candidate must be detailed-oriented and have in-depth knowledge in configuration management and planning, configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, and configuration verification and audit. Individual must possess excellent interpersonal, business management, and customer service skills.
  • Use of automated configuration management tools for implementing configuration management policies, procedures and standardize documentation and processes. 

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and ten (10) years or more experience, or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of SharePoint 2016 
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel 
  • Experience with Multi-user ECP Automated Review System (MEARS) DoD Configuration Management Tool 
  • Active Secret Clearance

  
Desired Qualifications
 

  • Project Management experience including metrics collection and analysis, process improvement software lifecycle management. 
  •  Experience working in an Air Force or DoD environment.
  •  Air Force/DOD Acquisitions experience
