Description

The San Diego SAIC Naval Business Unit currently has an opening for a Field Services Electronics Technician in San Diego, CA.

Candidate will provide engineering and technical assistance, operations and maintenance expertise on systems and subsystems associated with Expeditionary Surveillance Control Central (ESCC) and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) to include but not limited to the Trailer Sensor Platform (TSP), and Graphical Data Fusion System (GDFS) as managed by the In Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) at Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSCPAC).

Candidate will participate in and provide technical support activities to include operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of the following major systems/subsystems:

  • Trailer Sensor Platform
  • Graphical Data Fusion System
  • Furuno Radar

Candidate will support activities to include; Integration and Test, fault diagnostic and repair, on new hardware or software. Candidate will be involved with the review and continued development of technical and training documentation. The candidate will Interface and coordinate activities with SSCPAC Customer and Fleet Units, to support repair, groom and training assist visits. The candidate will also support gathering of configuration information and reports as required to document activity and fault findings including repair analysis.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate and at least 8 years’ experience as a Navy Electronics Technician or Information Technology Tech.

Required skills:

  • Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly of cables and connectors, soldering, and use of basic electrical test equipment and other hand tools
  • Ability to read schematics, and wiring diagrams. 

Required clearance:

  • Must have an active Secret (or higher) clearance.

 Desired skills: 

  • Excellent communication and writing skills. 
  • Proficient in MS office suited to include Word, Excel, and Power Point. 
  • Experience in the operations and maintenance of the ESCC or NECC systems/equipment.
  • Instructor experience a plus.
