The NISC IV program within the Leidos Civil group is seeking an
Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Professional with Fall
Protection technical writing and training expertise to join the National Airspace
System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team. This sub family is responsible for
the development, implementation and management of the company's comprehensive
Environmental, Health and Safety Program with the goal of mitigating organizational
risk. Duties may include working with the local government, and health agencies to
review, audit, and update the program to make sure it is up-to-date with the most
current industry practices IMPACT: Works independently to achieve day-to-day
objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables.
Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area. Typically
responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower level technical staff.
COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal
experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep
technical knowledge. COMMUNICATION: Communicates with internal and client
project team members. Works to influence team members regarding solution design,
process and/or approaches. LEADERSHIP & TALENT MANAGEMENT: KNOWLEDGE:
Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts
of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas.
SAIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs environmental analysis, typically in assessing, analyzing, researching and ensuring environmental policy compliance with pertinent Federal, state and local environmental regulations, which may include CERCLA, CAA, and RCRA. May perform research and assessment of data; develop or prepare reports, surveys, descriptive charts, figures or matrices for compliance and specific application of these items. May involve preparation of information in support of environmental policy development or administration, including litigation support. May include permitting procedures for projects. Must have knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations. SCOPE: N/A LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: N/A KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Performs assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives. Administers company policies that directly affect employees. Recommends changes to team policies. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. May refer to policies, procedures and practices. FREEDOM TO ACT: Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. IMPACT: Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization. LIASON: Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
NISC TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS and 10 years of prior
relevant experience or Masters with 8 years of prior relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in leiu of a degree.
• Ability to classify and summarize EOSH data for the preparation and
submission of reports on a recurring basis as needed.
• Ability to work at heights, successfully complete fall protection training, and
achieve rescue level fall protection certification.
• Ensure all fall protection specifications are consistent with all applicable
Federal, State, Local and Agency specific laws, regulations, and guidelines related to
Ability to prepare, review and consult on the development of Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs) for fall protection processes and equipment use (SOPs)
• Ability to travel 75% of the time or more, as necessary.
• Ability to work at heights and to safely lift 75 lbs.
• Solid analytical, planning and program assessment skills in the Environmental
Occupational Health and Safety field.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, EPA, and DOT regulations, practices,

• Ability to create, interpret and present various EOSH related reports.
• Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to
include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Power Point.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities for the position include the following:
• Project management and planning.
• Work place inspections.
• Review of Fall Protection Procedures through on-site assessment.
• Training and reporting.
SAIC TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
