SAIC is seekin a Defense Contractor Procurement Coordinator for an exciting Air Force program based out of Orlando, FL.

 

SAIC, a premier Fortune 500 technology integrator company, has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Coordinator candidate on a successful, long-term Modeling and Simulation contract supporting the Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation in Orlando, Florida. This incredible program supports customers located in Germany to South Korea; and many places in between.  The end-state of all of the work performed on this contract is to provide superior, swift, economical, and more effective simulation to the United States Air Force to improve the combat skills of pilots and airmen.

The Procurement Coordinator will directly support the Business Operations Lead in the Program Management Office and work as a liaison between procurement department personnel, program personnel and government customers across this large program.  He/she should be knowledgeable about SAIC procurement policies and procedures as well as contract requirements.  The candidate must be outgoing, flexible and responsive to support the team as necessary. He/she must have a positive outlook and personable personality with “can do” attitude, who easily works with many types of people.  If you are someone who enjoys helping others achieve success, this is the job for you!

Some activities our procurement coordinator will perform include:

  • Working closely with Project Managers and government customers to complete required procurement documentation
  • Creating Purchase Action Requests and working with assigned Buyer and/or procurement managers to ensure timely acquisition of requested items and/or services
  • Providing weekly reports to FEDSIM and RFS customers as to procurement status
  • Assisting the Program Office in maintaining/updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all administrative processes and procedures
  • Processing Requests to Initiate Purchase to secure necessary funding approvals
  • Communicating with vendors to track procured items and ensure the accuracy of items delivered
  • Working with recipients to acquire master packing slips and/or other verification of items received
  • Processing Extended Work Week requests
  • Processing Requests to Initiate Purchase for all ODC expenses

Qualifications

Some skills and character traits our procurement coordinator should have:

  • Comfortable in adapting to shifting priorities and to function in a fast paced environment 
  • The ability to interact professionally and respectfully with employees and government customers
  • Responsiveness to deadlines and completeness in accomplishing assignments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Power Point, Excel) and Outlook (email, calendars)
  • The ability to effectively communicate processes and procedures is highly desirable 
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Suite of Tools (Jira and Confluence) desirable

Education/Experience BA/BS Degree and three (3) years or more of relevant experience providing task execution/procurement and/or program administrative support, preferably to government customers, including creating meeting agendas, taking minutes and responding to task requirements.  Six (6) years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.  An Associate’s Degree plus four (4) years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.  Or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
