Description

SAIC is looking for a Key Leader for our Project Accounting Organization to lead the Project Setup Department within our Finance Shared Services Organization (FSS). FSS provides highly effective services via streamlined processes, with an emphasis on customers, collaboration, and quality.

Remote possibilites are available to candidates local to the Huntsville, AL and Andover, MA areas.

Typical Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of the Project Setup function including initial contract review, project setup requirements, revenue recognition, and continued project maintenance.
• Provide leadership on key business initiatives and objectives for the department.
• Responsible for insightful analysis and reporting of information to key stakeholders.
• Maintain and ensure compliance of SOX and DFARS controls.
• Manage the execution of accounting policies managed by Project Setup, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Develop and execute process improvement and automation / system initiatives for the Project Setup Department.
• Maintain outstanding relationships with executives, line and functional partners, external and internal auditors.
• Motivate, develop, and retain staff.
• Oversee and manage staff workload to best utilize resources and talent.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and thirteen (13) years or more of related experience; OR Masters and 10 years of related experience.
• Experience supervising/managing staff.
• Strong industry knowledge and understanding of accounting practices.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with a respectful, positive, professional presentation style.
• Ability to effectively present information and provide timely, reliable, courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage a large & geographically dispersed team. Teach, coach/mentor, and lead the team while working collaboratively across with business groups/sectors.
• Understanding and experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with Deltek CostPoint.
