SAIC is seeking a Logistics Principal for a key role supporting the United States Marine Corps’ Future Weapons System/Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD) Program in Crane, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
In support of the program’s counter Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) mission, the successful candidate will ensure the efficient flow of materials, services and information from points of origin to customer placement by effectively leading a diverse, geographically distributed team and managing multiple logistics lines of operation. The candidate must have a strong background in supply chain management, managerial and procurement experience, as well as full knowledge of logistics industry standards and best practices.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead a team of logisticians and manage the daily execution of tasks across multiple logistics functional areas that include, but are not limited to, procurement, shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Ensure the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic functions and processes
- Develop requirements for raw materials, scheduling and production based on engineering specifications
- Manage all material management activities to include but not limited to tracking, inventory management, records management, forecasting, procurement and support to periodic audits
- Plan, schedule and manage the efficient movement, receiving, storage and recording of materials from points of origin through production in both government and corporate spaces
- Conduct policy and logistics planning and contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards
- Create process diagrams and codify associated procedures for such areas as material management, procurement, shipping/receiving and storage of equipment
- Analyze and evaluate the impact of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) on materials, cost, schedule, logistics infrastructure, and technical documentation
- Develop solutions to problems moderate in scope and complexity and ensure they are consistent with organizational objectives
- Represent the organization as a prime contact with a variety of GBAD stakeholders to include, but not limited to, government Program Management Offices, Industry, and Naval Surface Warfare Center government personnel to meet program needs
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:
- Possess a high degree of leadership along with organizational, managerial and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently, under general direction with a wide degree of latitude
- Knowledge of database applications such as Configuration Management Professional (CMPRO) and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) tools
- Proficient in management of workflows for receiving configuration management (CM) data as well as analyzing and routing data, providing recommendations, monitoring reviews, and reporting status to support programs
- Management level experience in procurement activities for both contractor level acquisitions as well as government procurement processes [i.e. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) procurements; familiarity with managing and facilitating Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs); audit experience for closing out government procurements utilizing Key Supporting Documents (KSDs)…]
- Experience creating documents and submitting or reviewing, conducting detailed searches (creating reports) on documents, parts, and other logistic facets
- Proficient in all MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project and Outlook)

Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- High School diploma and fourteen (14) years or more related experience; OR Associates and twelve (12) years’ experience; OR Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in defense lifecycle (acquisition) logistics support; experience with ground based air defense weapons systems preferred
- Relevant experience includes: DoD acquisition process including program/project logistics management and providing full product life cycle support guidance to a Program Office
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Interim Secret clearance required to be considered.
