Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced systems administrator in support of a managed services engagement for a major account. The selected candidate will be the primary technical resource for Windows Systems Administration as well as assisting with AZURE IAAS/PAAS implementation.  Performs day-to-day operational maintenance, administration, support, patching and upgrades for servers running the Windows 2016/2019/2021 operating systems. This position requires the ability to assist with the architectural, engineering, administration of Windows on perm and AZURE infrastructure, as well as participate in the change process and incident response processes.  Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.

Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.  Develops, implements, promotes and documents standard operating procedures and schedules.  Incumbent in this job works closely with Middleware, Database, and Network teams to troubleshoot issues, implement changes, and deploy release packages.

Qualifications

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Four additional years' experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

 

Required Experience/Skills

  • Must possess competencies in installation, service design, and support in an environment that uses Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019/2021
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Environments
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with production environments.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to participate in on-call work on a reoccurring basis.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability of end-to-end problem management and ownership
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of authentication functions and protocols such as LDAP, Kerberos, and Active Directory
  • Conceptual knowledge of Storage systems (SAN/NAS)
  • Any of the following IT certifications are also desirable for this position: MCP, CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Security+, Azure

  • Powershell: Windows PS,AD Ps, Azure Ad ps, MS Exchange online
  • DNS: Infoblox administration (GRID)
  • Virtualization Software: VMWare
  • Software Deployment: Microsoft System Center Operations Manager(SCOM) /System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and  BigFix

Target salary range: $95,001 - $105,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
