SAIC is pursuing the opportunity to support the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA Programs Support Services.   

Positions are contingnet upon contract award which is expected early 2022 and will be located in Wallops Island, VA.

Under a key component of the Naval Surface  Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division ( MSWCDD) The Surface Combat Systems Center SCSC) will provide a wide variety of program services supporting AEGIS, AEGIS Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Ships Self Defense System (SSDS) and DDG 1000 program support. Support services will be provided for all current future NAVSEA and PEO IWS approved program activities on Wallops Island.  Additionally, this effort will provide for the installation, activation and upgrade of various platform modernization initiatives at Wallops Island.

 

Career Opportunities:

Most positions will require an Active Secret Level security clearance. Initial Interim Secret clearance is acceptable.

Positions will be available in the following skill areas. Minimum requirements will vary based on role, level, education and experience:

Provide warfare system testing support, to include systems and networks. Conduct test execution, data reduction, and data analysis at the AEGIS Site for research, development and testing for the AEGIS Weapon System (AWS), AEGIS Combat System (ACS), and AEGIS BMD to include shipboard AWS and ACS equipment, simulation and stimulation of shipboard assets, computer and network equipment, unclassified and classified software development environments and baseline development (system problem evaluation, resolution, and test requirements). Provide communication support to meet scheduled events in accordance with a Government approved Communication Plan to include the setup and operation of Ultra high frequency (UHF), very high frequency (VHF), high frequency (HF), satellite communications (SATCOM) radios, Link-11, Link-16, and Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC).

As part of this exciting effort, SAIC is looking for highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill a wide range of positions in:

  • Wallops Island, VA
  • Dahlgren, VA (travel to Wallops Island, VA as needed)

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum requirements will vary based on role, level, education and experience

AEGIS Computer Network Technician: Seven (7) years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on AEGIS Computer Network systems and equipment. Demonstrated experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on the UYQ-70 or COTS Computer/Display Systems.  Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field/discipline; or 4 additional years of demonstrated experience as outline above can be substituted for a degree. Must have or obtain within one year of onboarding Networking training certificate or certification and Security+ certification. 

Network Engineer: A Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in a computer science or information technology discipline, and three (3) years of demonstrated network engineering knowledge, with a preference for demonstrated combat systems network engineering knowledge relevant to AEGIS, AEGIS BMD, SSDS or DDG 1000 Weapon and Combat Systems.  Five (5) additional years of demonstrated experience as outline above can be substituted for a degree. 

Communications Electronics Technician:Seven (7) years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance for the alignment, adjustment, removal and replacement of Lowest Replaceable Units on the communications equipment on systems to include to: AN/SQR-4 W/EC-181 Ku Band, AN/URC-(131) HFRG, AN/WSC9(V) and AN/FSC-138(V), UHF (WSC-3/UHF DAMA), EHF/SHF equipment within Navy Multi-Band Terminal (NMT) AN/WSC-9(V), and Joint Tactical Information Data System (JTIDS). AN URC-107(V) 7, AN/USQ-155(V) 6 systems comprised of the following major components - Red Conference Voice Switch, Red Digital Matrix Switch (RDS) and/or Black Tactical Matrix Switch (BTS). Introduction and operation of the CORSCAN Server, Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) Systems (WSC-3/UHF DAMA), Communications Security (COMSEC), AN/WSC-6(V)5,7,9 SHF SATCOM terminal and related baseband equipment.

 

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Most positions will require an Active Secret Level security clearance
