SAIC is pursuing the opportunity to support the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA Programs Support Services.   

Positions are contingnet upon contract award which is expected early 2022 and will be located in Wallops Island, VA.

Under a key component of the Naval Surface  Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division ( MSWCDD) The Surface Combat Systems Center SCSC) will provide a wide variety of program services supporting AEGIS, AEGIS Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Ships Self Defense System (SSDS) and DDG 1000 program support. Support services will be provided for all current future NAVSEA and PEO IWS approved program activities on Wallops Island.  Additionally, this effort will provide for the installation, activation and upgrade of various platform modernization initiatives at Wallops Island.

Provide comprehensive readiness, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting support at the equipment and system level and restoration of equipment and systems to design specifications for all combat system facilities at SCSC. This includes AEGIS, AEGIS BMD, SSDS, and DDG 1000 combat systems, weapon systems, simulators, interface switching, tactical communications, tactical audio/visual, cable infrastructure, fiber infrastructure and equipment as listed in the ABEL. These systems are highly integrated and complex system of systems comprised of tactical and commercial equipment and computer programs. Will also provide on-site maintenance support personnel during all shifts and mission events to match expected customer agency workloads and quality of service expectations, maintenance requirements to maintain readiness, and essential real time troubleshooting of scheduled systems and equipment. Must perform maintenance tasks to include cable assembly, repair and installation (including fiber optic cable); cable removal; equipment overhaul and refurbishment; tactical electrical power connection and repair; and tactical cooling plumbing connection and repair, equipment foundation fabrication, and heavy weather preparation and recovery. The Contractor shall remove, ship, and replace SCSC equipment in support of Government requirements.

As part of this exciting effort, SAIC is looking for highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill a wide range of positions in:

  • Wallops Island, VA
  • Dahlgren, VA (travel to Wallops Island, VA as needed)

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum requirements will vary based on role, level, education and experience

  • General Maintenance: Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. Ability to pull heavy cables.  High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Electrical Maintenance: Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the trade of electrician, and required license to perform the electrician functions in the state of Virginia. Demonstrated experience in installation and maintenance of industrial type electrical distribution systems. 
  • Plumber: Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the trade of plumber, and required license to perform the plumber functions in the state of Virginia. Demonstrated experience in installation and repair of industrial type cooling systems for water cooled systems, dry air systems, and chemically cooled systems. 
  • Welder: Five (5) years demonstrated experience in the trade of welding and required license/certifications to perform welder functions in the state of Virginia. Demonstrated experience in the installation and maintenance of equipment foundations, brackets and fasteners, and antennas mounted on a mast or tower.  
  • Cabling: Three (3) years experience with commercial cable fabrication, inventory control, and electric design and fabrication. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Three (3) years experience building and repairing cables.  
  • Fire Control Technicians: Ten (10) years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and Preventive maintenance on MK-99 Fire Control Systems, Legacy ORTS Systems and MK-84 400Hz Converter Systems. 
  • SSDS: Ten (10) years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on SSDS systems and equipment to include:  documented organizational-level maintenance, monitoring and managing operation of SSDS MK 2 OA Tech Refresh MODs 1C/3C/5C/6C, SSDS OA MK 2 OA Tech Refresh MODs 1C/2C/3C/5C, SSDS OA MK 2 OA Tech Refresh MODs 1C/2C/3C/5C with (TI-12H) ORDALT, and BFTT AN/USQ-T46D(V) configurations.  Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field/discipline; or 4 additional years of demonstrated experience as outline above can be substituted for a degree.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

COVID Policy: Prospective and/or new employees will be required to adhere with SAIC's vaccination policy.
