SAIC is pursuing the opportunity to support the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA Programs Support Services.   

Positions are contingnet upon contract award which is expected early 2022 and will be located in Wallops Island, VA.

Under a key component of the Naval Surface  Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division ( MSWCDD) The Surface Combat Systems Center SCSC) will provide a wide variety of program services supporting AEGIS, AEGIS Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Ships Self Defense System (SSDS) and DDG 1000 program support. Support services will be provided for all current future NAVSEA and PEO IWS approved program activities on Wallops Island.  Additionally, this effort will provide for the installation, activation and upgrade of various platform modernization initiatives at Wallops Island.

 

Career Opportunities:

Most positions will require an Active Secret Level security clearance. Initial Interim Secret clearance is acceptable.

Positions will be available in the following skill areas. Minimum requirements will vary based on role, level, education and experience: 

  • Librarian Lead
  • Technical Library Technician 
  • Technical Library Clerk/Aide

 

Site Locations:

As part of this exciting effort, SAIC is looking for highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill a wide range of positions in:

  • Wallops Island, VA
  • Dahlgren, VA (travel to Wallops Island, VA as needed)

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Librarian Lead: 

  • Five (5) years of experience to include: operation of a technical library program; providing technical information services such as  web products, visual information products; acquiring library products; library reference assistance; and maintaining records from various online sources
  • Ability to perform specialized technical tasking to include review of technical book and report collections, digitization of documents, searching online reference catalog, and data base management, destruction, and transmittal of classified material
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security requirements for handling, storage, inventory and destruction of classified material in accordance with SECNAV 5510 (series)
  • Three (3) years of proven experience in supervision/management of personnel; to include workflow management, project development, workforce coordination and tutoring/training of subordinates OR  A Bachelors of Degree from an accredited college or university in an information management, information science technology, or technical library and information center discipline

 

Technical Library Technician: 

  • Two (2) years of experience to include: operation of a technical library program; providing technical information services to include web products, visual information products; acquiring library products; library reference assistance; and maintaining records from various online sources
  • Detailed knowledge of security requirements for handling, storage, inventory and destruction of classified material in accordance with SECNAV 5510 (series) OR  An Associates of Applied degree from an accredited college or university in an information management, information science technology, or technical library and information center discipline

 

Technical Library Clerk/Aide: 

  • High school diploma
  • Technical library operations; providing technical information services such as web products and maintaining records from various online sources; basic understanding of cataloging of library reference materials
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Clear communication
  • Ability to answer routine inquires and refer persons requiring professional assistance to the Librarian
  • Basic knowledge of security requirements for handling, storage, inventory and destruction of classified material in accordance with SECNAV 5510 (series)

 

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Most positions will require an Active Secret Level security clearance
