Job Description



SAIC currently has an opening for a Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) Subject Matter Expert (SME) and User Representative for the DCGS-A CPCE in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities Include:

  • The candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting all actions related to the integration of DCGS-A space-based intelligence capabilities, and associated doctrine, organizations, training, materiel, leader development, personnel and facilities (DOTMLPF) domain activities. 
  • The candidate will support the development and coordinate Space and Missile Defense (SMD) user requirements with the staff elements of the SMD Center of Excellence (SMDCoE), the DCGS-A Army Capability Manager (ACM), the Intelligence CoE, and other appropriate stakeholders as required.  
  • Responsible for advocating and supporting the testing, training and fielding of future DCGS-A space intelligence capabilities.
  • Responsible for supporting the customer in developing schedules and agendas for meetings; facilitating meetings; coordinating specific working groups and conducting analysis to refine operational requirements.  
  • Candidate must have experience with operational space-based capabilities planning requirements and processes, and with DCGS data posting, information processing and dissemination to assist commander’s visualization and understanding of the space environment, capabilities and threats.



Bachelors degree and 14+ years of experience or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military. Experience must be specific to the space environment, capabilities development, processes and implementation strategies; developing event-based schedules based on key events; related tasks, and relevant completion criteria for each life cycle analysis; developing calendar-based schedules with expected task and event completion dates; and development of briefings and reports with supporting graphics and other analyses experience.

CLEARANCE: Must posses an active Top Secret Security Clearance

Required Skills:

Comprehensive knowledge and expertise of:

  • Development, coordination, and staffing of Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) documents, including the required supporting analysis and documentation.
  • Total package materiel fielding from development thru training and fielding operations phases.
  • Expertise in the development of: training literature, training courses; instructional media, transition training, training evaluation documents (operator, crew, and unit), and training devices needed to support both institutional and organizational training.
  • Expertise in technology assessments of emerging Science and Technology (S&T) and industry solutions relative to fulfilling system requirements, and support user juries and surveys to ensure acceptance of relevant technology improvements that meet identified and related capability gaps.
  • Expertise in the development of system-related briefings and reports that include supporting graphics and other technical analyses as required. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, preparing briefings and writing of technical papers.
  • Familiarity with Army military hierarchy, military terms and military acronyms.

Target salary range: $155,001 - $165,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
