Job Description


SAIC is seeking a highly motivated mid-level systems administrator with a strong background in Linux. The administrator will be responsible for high performance computing (HPC) environments on government networks at multiple classification levels and have a functional understanding of cluster infrastructure to include optimizing job scheduling and workload management. The administrator will build, manage, and implement innovative solutions, and develop systems to improve network(s).


Our new teammate will be able to work equally well in a team as on their own. We want a team player that is eager to learn and ready for a challenge.



  • Must have a Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience
  • Experience with high performance computing environments
  • Familiarity with OpenHPC and Warewolf
  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems - CentOS and Ubuntu
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with configuration management platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Familiarity with Git, Subversion, or Mercurial
  • Knowledge of server hardware and storage technology
  • Ability to research and learn new technologies


Desired Qualifications:


  • Windows Operating System knowledge - Windows, Windows Server
  • Experience working with virtual machines
  • Experience with file shares and permissions
  • Operational familiarity with Windows Server
  • Understanding of networking hardware, concepts, and application
  • Experience building, deploying, and maintaining computer systems in a domain environment
  • STIG Implementation
