Do you have a drive to help support NGA's mission? We are seeking Front-End Web Team Members to support NGA's Globe website. 

This position requires coordination with NGA Support Teams to keep information up-to-date, create new pages with mission-related information, and improve the overall site design based on customer feedback. Provide services to develop overall layout and production design for various applications by applying knowledge of interactive web design tools and web technologies (e.g. CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, Adobe Creative products, Bootstrap, or other design frameworks) supporting the technology and capabilities of the NGA internet and intranet systems.

Specifically, duties may include:

  • Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, configures and maintains website for our external customers and their clients
  • Create and implement Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), HTML5 markup language, and other markup languages as needed to support design implementation.
  • Conduct design evaluations for NGA’s web enterprises to enable the build out of respective web designs to enhance the user experience.
  • Create and deliver design educational and informational briefs.
  • Work with team members to evaluate ideas and concepts, assist with making critical decisions affecting the user experience, and incorporate varying stages of the design to the UX process.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams and application users to conceptualize, design, and prototype excellent user experiences while maintaining functionality and simple workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure best practices.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing web design software (e.g. Adobe Master Collection CS6/Adobe Creative Cloud) and/or applications (e.g. Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop).
  • Demonstrated experience designing user-centered web-based products (from concept to executionincluding those for desktop, web, and/or mobile devices).
  • Demonstrated experience designing products for front-end development and web applications.
  • Demonstrated experience applying visual media design principles, theory, practices, user-centered web design principles and UX processes.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, editing, organizing, and storing digital file formats (e.g. tiff, gif, png, pdf, jpg, svg, html, css).
